Did Tebow Really Lose?

Saturday night brought an end to one of the National Football League’s most hyped up weeks. The Patriots crushing win over the Broncos brought this all to an abrupt end. But before you close up shop and mentally pack away #15 till next August’s pre-season start-up, learn the lesson that was placed before us.

We have a young quarterback who breaks all social norms of keeping religion where no one can see it; (if that’s even possible.) He leads a team that objectively didn’t put up record stats all season long. So who really cares, right? Isn’t the proposed debt-ceiling-increase more newsworthy?

Though the lava was simmering all season long, the media volcano didn’t really erupt till his 80 yd toss two weeks ago which sent the Steelers packing for home. So why the explosion now?

If you are Christian and still haven’t realized the attack modern secularism is making on you then wake up. And it’s not just against you but your good old “US of A” whose foundation rests solidly on your Christian roots.

Religion they say, is contrary to real human progress. It is part of the superstitions of the past and an enemy to your freedom. Do you ever wonder why news agencies “forget” to cover 1.5 million young people assembling for World Youth Day with the Pope in Spain? Because they are intent on showing that religion is only for the weak.

And when a “stud” like young Mr. Tebow, wins and shows that religion is something at his core, modern secularism is defied. Pain may be weakness leaving the body but going deeper we can say that religion is weakness leaving the body.

And that’s not poetry but it stands on the surest of philosophical reason. God as our creator is the fulfillment of man. In Him, we are strong and without Him nothing. Rest assured though, your strength in Him will not always translate into points and W’s, but you WILL win in the game of life.
