The Better Model

The Sadducees of today's Gospel didn't even believe in the Resurrection. Wham! No heaven ... and yet they still obeyed all the laws and said their prayers. In fact, they were perfect at it. Why? Because they thought that meant God would make them become richer, live healthier, have more kids, and be able to destroy their enemies. Yet, in all honesty, if religion is about this life, you are wasting your life. Christ is the better model: he lived poor, in suffering, celibate, and was murdered by his "enemies." He lived with his eyes focused on ETERNAL life.
