(Gospel) Why doesn't Jesus heal everyone who makes a visit to him in the Eucharist? Was he only concerned with popularity such that he cured everyone he touched?
Jesus had a mission. Part of that mission included PROVING that he was God. He did this by working miracles. Miracles are thus today no longer, in that sense, necessary. The Bible has been written; Jesus' life and example are available to us today through the Word. The Word feeds us, so that we can know, love and imitate Christ, and thus reach heaven.
There's nothing wrong with asking God humbly to reach out and work a miracle for you, however his desire goes beyond that; he wants you, and all men, to reach heaven.
