The Perfect Politician?

By Benjamin O'Loughlin

Politics is old. As old as man. What keeps it going?

There are two answers to that question. One is bad. The other is good. Both are true.

One answer is greed. People greedy for power. For fame and glory. For the last word. People who use others, instead of using their talents for others.

The other answer is about need. People in need. In need of protection. Of help. Of someone to follow and believe in. In need of someone who cares and is willing to dedicate their time and energy to meeting those needs. That politics is about love, sacrifice and dedication.

In an ideal world, for everyone in need there would be someone there to serve and love them. Someone to lead them to a better place.

You don't need to spend time fretting about the fact that our world isn't ideal. It isn't. But our time is much better spent making it ideal.

I'm not talking about the upcoming elections. I'm talking about your life. What can you do to be the perfect politician?

  1. ...God must find us working, completing our tasks and fulfilling our responsibilities. GOD must find US working for the good of OTHERS. We should be Lighted Lamps meant to guide, show the way and overcome darkness. God must find us at the service of others...using our talents, time and treasure for the benefit of our fellow men. God must find US working for the salvation of His people.
