Drunkenness and Mowing the Grass

From today's Gospel: What to beware of...

Carousing - "Drinking plentiful amounts of alcohol and enjoying oneself with others in a noisy, lively way."
Drunkenness - "A temporary state resulting from excessive consumption of alcohol."
Anxieties of Daily Life - "Diaper changing, study, washing dishes, mowing the grass...."

Interesting that Jesus throws them all together. Maybe it's because it doesn't matter WHAT it is, it can still distract you from preparing yourself for eternity.

However, even those anxieties of daily life can lead us to rely on and give thanks to God. It all depends where your heart is.
