The word is seen as synonymous with FUN.
And even though you and me would readily agree that anyone who goes against God's beautiful plan for happiness is like a baseball player childishly getting more excited over the bubble gum stuck on the bottom of the bench in the dugout, then over the World Series, WE continue to grope for bubble gum, do we not?
Test yourself: Make a top ten list of things that make you deeply spiritually happy. Now how many hours of your day do you spend doing things that have nothing to do with those top ten?
Jesus has just one word for this kind of bubble gum. He calls it slavery.
