"For which of my good works do you wish to stone me?" Jesus never, ever did anything that was not a good work.
Success is one of our ongoing desires. We finish the project - we want a raise in pay. We shovel the snow - we want the 10 bucks. We practice 30 minutes a day - we want the piano piece to sound beautiful. We measure the flour and baking powder to perfection - we want the cake to taste perfect.
Even in our human relations we think the same way. We bring the flowers - we want to be loved. We patiently serve - we want to be thanked.
And then we have to stop and think: "But Jesus didn't work like that!"
Jesus got killed for doing good works, remember?

I am so BUSTED! This brought home a very good point, and I am so guilty. I can now add this to the things that I am already practicing to be a better and more faith-filled child of God.
