Sometimes you are chatting, and suddenly they stop answering your questions... after 15 minutes you type frantically: "Are you still there?" "HELLO???"
No, Jesus didn't just suddenly have better things to do elsewhere. He didn't drop out like a friend suddenly busier with something else.
He meant to leave. It was his way of saying - as soon as the Eucharist is consecrated - that he is present THERE!
That's why in all of our seminaries, we use this image on the tabernacle; to remind ourselves that Christ is truly present. The Risen Lord!
